First and foremost, shout out to Mndsgn & Koreatown Oddity for paying respect to the original Aunt Viv with their new creative collaboration, Vivians. Their new project features appearances from Jonwayne as Uncle Trill, Quelle Chris, Zeroh, Nanna B. and more.
Vivians was premiered this past weekend at Stones Throw’s Cassette Store Day pop-up shop. Along with OG Aunt Viv, they pay respect to another piece of black culture people try to forget, the jheri curl (I may or may not have had one when I was 7), with this track “Reelfeelings/Showrcap.”
